Azoospermia

Y kromozomu uzun kolu (q) distalinde sitogenetik olarak saptana-bilen delesyon bölgeleri bulunur. AZF (Azospermi Faktör) olarak adlandırılan bu delesyon bölgeleri spermatogenez ve germ hücreleri gelişim ve değişimi için gerekli olan genleri içerir. AZF lokusu spermatogenezden sorumludur. Başlangıçta 5 ve 6. bölümlerde yerleşmiş olan birbiriyle çakışmayan üç alt bölgeye ayrılan, AZFa, AZFb ve AZFc daha sonra AZFb ve AZFc arasında dördüncü bir bölge (AZFd) daha tanımlanmıştır.[1][2][3][4][5][6]
