Pelecanus tirarensis, Oligosen'in sonu ile Miyosen'in başına ait fosillerden 1966 yılında tanımlanmış bir pelikan türüdür. Güney Avustralya'nın kuzeydoğusunda Eyre Gölü havzasında Namba oluşumlarında bulunan çeşitli tarsometatarsus parçalarından tanımlama yapılmıştır.[2][3][4]
