Tony Kushner
Tony Kushner (doğum 16 Temmuz 1956), Amerikalı oyun yazarı, roman yazarı ve senarist. 1993'te Angels in America isimli oyunu sayesinde Pulitzer Drama Ödülü'nü aldı, daha sonra oyunu 2003'te HBO'ya uyarladı. 2005 yapımlı film Münih ve 2012 yapımlı film Lincoln'un senaryolarını yazdı. Her iki film de büyük beğeni topladı ve En İyi Uyarlanmış Senaryo dalında Oscar Ödülü adaylığı aldı. 2013 yılında Başkan Barack Obama'dan Birleşik Devletler Ulusal Sanat Madalyası aldı.[1] Nisan 2008'te Mark Harris'le New York'ta evlenmiştir.[2]

Erken yaşamı
Kushner, 1956'da New York'ta, Yahudi fagot sanatçısı Sylivia (kızlık soy adı Deutscher) ve orkestra şefi olan Yahudi William David Kushner'un oğlu olarak dünyaya geldi.[3][4] Ebeveynleri, Rus İmparatorluğu ve Galiçya'dan, Yahudilere yönelik yükselen ayrımcılıktan ötürü ABD'ye göçtü.[5][6][7][8][9]
Kushner'in doğumundan bir süre sonra ailesi, çocukluğunu geçireceği Lake Charles, Louisiana'ya taşındı. Lise yıllarına geldiğinde Kushner, politika ile oldukça ilgileniyordu. 1974'te ise Kushner, Columbia Üniversitesi'nde lisans öğrenimine başlamak için New York'a geri döndü.[10]
